EERC Laboratory
- Earthquake Simulator Laboratory
The Earthquake Simulator, or "shake table," was the first of its kind ever
built in the world. It is a 20 x 20 ft shaking table configured to produce
three translational components of motion; vertical and two horizontal.
These three degrees of freedom can be programmed to reproduce any wave
forms within the capacities of force, velocity, displacement, and frequency
of the system. It may be used to subject structures weighing up to 100,000
lbs to horizontal accelerations of up to 1.5 G.

NEES Laboratory
The nees@berkeley Reconfigurable Reaction Wall Earthquake Simulation Facility
is designed to support the development
of a new generation of hybrid testing methods
that smoothly integrate physical and numerical simulations.
-
Micro-NEES Laboratory
This laboratory sits adjacent to the main NEES laboratory
and is available for smaller experiments and student projects.
